Cecile Paet, GMHVA Volunteer Of The Year 2025
Our Volunteer of the Year is Cecile Paet, a retired registered nurse who took care of patients for 33 years before joining the GMH Volunteers Association.
In 2025, Cecile volunteered 1,191 hours toward the mission of the Association. To date she has accumulated 4,698 hours. This, no doubt, speaks volumes about her drive to help. She participated in 12 out of the 16 projects our organization undertook in 2025.
Cecile is a dedicated and hardworking volunteer. She is prudent, organized, and committed to continually learning and developing best practices for managing routine activities efficiently and effectively.
She has participated in many activities and was part of the financial team that counted sales and reconciled proceeds. She assisted with the annual gift shop inventory. For the annual Thanksgiving Raffle, she took charge of issuing tickets and monitoring sales.
As a member of the association's Patient Care team, she assisted with distributing baby kits to mothers and infants in need at the maternity ward of GMH. With her nursing background, her care and compassion are evident in her interaction with patients and their families.
When one looks at Cecile, they see a woman with a positive attitude, a "can do" spirit, a smile and a warm personable greeting. She has a way of making people feel good. She is admired and respected by her fellow volunteers and those in the hospital who interact with her. Our Volunteer of the Year!
